• Function

  1. As an H receptor antagonist, antihistamine can block the combination of histamine and H receptor and relieve allergic symptoms (such as itching, erythema and runny nose).
  2. Sedative and hypnotic effects produce sedative and drowsy effects by inhibiting dopamine receptors in the central nervous system, and are often used for preoperative sedation or adjuvant treatment of insomnia.
  3. Antiemetic effect blocks dopamine receptor in emetic chemoreceptor area of medulla oblongata and inhibits emetic reflex.
  4. The anticholinergic effect reduces gland secretion (such as saliva and sweat) and relieves the increase of secretion caused by allergy.
