Lurasidone is an atypical antipsychotic.In the USA since 2013. Lurasidoneis also approved for the treatment of depressive episodes associated with bipolar I disorder (bipolar depression) in adults when used alone or in combination with lithium or valproate.

Lurasidone is FDA approved for the treatment of schizophrenia and depressive episodes associated with bipolar I disorder.

 

 

Function

Lurasidone is used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia (a mental illness that causes disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions) in adults and children 13 years of age and older.
Lurasidone is used to treat certain mental/mood disorders (such as schizophrenia, depression associated with bipolar disorder).
