Microencapsulation is an alternative method to help overcome these issues.
•Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A, often used as an active ingredient in many skin care formulations to reduce wrinkles, acne, UV-induced aging spots,specific skin disorder (psoriasis, ichthyosis, etc.). However, retinol suffers poor solubility in wateris highly sensitive to lightoxygen, leading to rapid degradation. Thereby, it is difficult to incorporate retinol into stableeffective formulations. It is also important to note that retinol has a narrow therapeutic window, leading it to be ineffective at low concentrationstoxic at high concentrations.
