Ginseng Polysaccharides are a kind of natural macromolecular active ingredients extracted from ginseng. They are mainly composed of acidic heteropolysaccharide and neutral polysaccharide. Their structures include many monosaccharide units such as glucose, arabinose and galactose, which are connected by complex ways such as β-1,3- glycosidic bond and β-1,6- glycosidic bond, forming a highly branched three-dimensional structure. Different from saponin, polysaccharide has no direct cytotoxicity, but it can significantly enhance the immune response of the body by activating macrophages, natural killer cells (NK cells) and regulating the function of T/B lymphocytes. At the same time, it has multiple functions such as antioxidation (scavenging free radicals and inhibiting lipid peroxidation), antitumor (inducing tumor cell apoptosis and inhibiting angiogenesis) and regulating intestinal flora (promoting the proliferation of probiotics).
