Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate(P5P) is the active form of Vitamin B6 - that turns food into energy.But P5P is a coenzyme. A coenzyme is a non-protein molecule that helps an enzyme do its job. An enzyme is a protein molecule that speeds up or slows down a chemical reaction in your body.

 

Function

 1. Vitamin B6 Deficiency
Decreased immunity can become a problem with a deficiency of pyridoxine. A P5P supplement may alleviate many or all of these symptoms and reverse a deficiency.  
2. Sideroblastic Anemia
A study showed that P5P supplements can help relieve the symptoms of Sideroblastic Illness.  
3. Homocysteine Blood Levels
P5P supplements may reduce methionine levels in the body, reducing homocysteine levels at the same time.  
4. Vision
Studies claim that P5P supplements with other B vitamins may prevent vision loss from macular degeneration.
