Description

Ruscus aculeatus (Ruscus aculeatus) is a shrub belonging to the genus Ruscus and family. The leaves of the pseudoleaf tree degenerate into small scales of 3 mm, and its twigs grow into the appearance of flat leaves, giving the impression that they are their leaves. The peanut of the pseudoleaf tree is in the center or side of the "leaf", where the flower is left and the fruit is produced. The tree can be grown for ornamental purposes, dyed dry and used as an ornament, used as a broom (hence its nickname, "butcher's broom tree"), and eaten when young.
